WHY?

85% of young Australians experienced financial difficulties in the past year.

The typical Australian home went from 4 times median income in the early 2000s to more than 8 times today.

25–34-year-olds have less wealth than people the same age eight years ago, even though they saved more.

Only 28% of Year 10 students met the proficient standard in civics in 2024.

Federal gross debt is expected to reach $1.1 trillion during 2027–28.

Government spending has surged to record levels, crowding out the private investment that drives productivity. The result is exactly what the data predicts: Australia's productivity and capital stock per person have both turned negative for the first time in 60 years, leaving ordinary Australians poorer.

Think deeper.
Speak freely.
Bring your friends, come for free, and give it a shot. It’s fun, different, and you won’t regret coming.

SEE YOU THERE!

NOTE: Young Liberty Network is a non-partisan student initiative. While our events encourage debate and open discussion, everyone is welcome, regardless of political background or viewpoint.

For this reason, we generally avoid identity politics and culture war debates. While these issues are important, we believe they are often difficult to discuss constructively in this format. Our focus is instead on economics, public policy, current affairs, leadership, debate, philosophy, and practical ideas.
